May 14, 2018— Altenergy has recently completed installation of additional solar power capacity for the City of Cambridge. The company installed 36 additional solar panels to a system comprised of 39 existing panels. The additional generating capacity required the upgrade of the inverters that convert the panels’ DC output to conventional AC power.
The system is installed on the Cambridge Public Safety Building, located at 8 Washington Street, Cambridge, MD in the Eastern Shore region of Dorchester County. The building houses the Cambridge Police Department and the Rescue Fire Company.
The system is now capable of generating 21.58 kW of electricity, which can produce 23,003 kWH of power and offset 45,945 lb. of CO2 annually.
