Subject: Unbelievable Service
3 years ago I added solar power to my roof. I had a number of vendors to
choose from and because of their personal service and willingness to go the
extra mile I chose Staunton’s Altenergy. They did a great job
with installation and getting my system on-line.
Recently, however, I had a problem with my electric bill, where I was being
billed more than I had been in the past, at first I thought it was due to the
fact that we were using more energy due to the pandemic. I called Altenegy
and they promptly inspected my system and let me know that it was working
fine. After checking it out, they continued to monitor my system and a few
days later I was surprised when they called to tell me that the system
wasn’t producing as it should. They came out the same day and inspected my
system again. The problem was the inverter (a key part of the system that
converts the DC current from the solar panels into AC current that my home
uses). The inverter had to be replaced. Two weeks later they scheduled the
installation of the new inverter.
So, they made 3 trips to my home, installed a new piece of hardware, took away
the defective piece.
What would a plumber or electrician charge for this service? They would
charge an hourly rate plus travel time plus parts.
What did this incredible company do — NO CHARGE and they are giving me a
check for the time my system was offline!!!
